FAQs

Who should participate?

This program is designed for post-secondary professionals specifically focused on student hiring and career outcomes. This includes those in Career Services, Internship/Co-op offices, Work-Integrated Learning (WIL), and Employer Relations roles. If your goal is to build stronger talent pipelines and deeper employer partnerships, this academy is for you.

What will I learn during this program?

The Employer Engagement Academy focuses on moving you from transactional “order taker” to "consultative advisor." You will learn to use the 9 Success Drivers of the ER Ecosystem™, identify employer challenges (like AI ethics and candidate reneges), and develop business cases that highlight the value of student hiring to your partners.

What "tools" will I walk away with?

You’ll receive a toolkit designed for immediate use, including the Employer Relations Scorecard™, the Business Case Worksheet, and an individual 1-year Action Plan.

What is a "Micro-credential" and how can I use it?

A micro-credential is a verified digital recognition of specialized professional skills. Upon successful completion of the requirements, you will receive a digital badge and certificate that can be shared on LinkedIn or added to your resume to demonstrate your professional development in Employer Relations.

What is the schedule and time commitment?

The core of the program consists of four, 3-hour live sessions held over four weeks. In addition to these sessions, it is expected that participants will complete 1–2 hours of homework each week. This coursework consists of contributing to the community discussion board, using core program tools, including the Employer Relations Scorecard™ and the Business Case Worksheet, reviewing supplemental materials, connecting with other participants, finalizing an actionable 1-year roadmap, and completing a final quiz.

Will there be recordings available?

Yes. All sessions are recorded and made available exclusively to participants on the dedicated web portal within 24 hours. You will have full access to these recordings and all program materials for 4 months after the program concludes.

What happens if I miss a session?

We understand that a session may occasionally conflict with other commitments. All 3-hour sessions are recorded and posted to the dedicated web portal within 24 hours. You can still earn your micro-credential by watching the recording, reviewing the educational materials, and completing the weekly homework and final action plan. All recordings remain available for review for four months after the program concludes.

Is this program specific to a certain region or school size?

No. While the breakout groups allow for context-specific discussions, the consultative strategies and core framework are universal to post-secondary student hiring regardless of your institution's size or location.

Can you help me convince my boss to invest in this?

This program is a strategic investment in your institution's ability to drive higher-value employer partnerships. Beyond the training, participants become part of a professional network of employer relations leads from across the US and Canada. This community allows you to discuss common challenges, share successful strategies, and tap into collective expertise both during and after the program. Furthermore, you will walk away with an actionable 1-year roadmap designed to align your professional growth with your office's specific goals.

Here is a "Request for Training" email template to help you articulate the ROI and institutional value of this program to your supervisor.
