View ProgramEvolving Equity: Toward Access, Community and Belonging
In Winter 2025, the University of Alberta made commitments to ensure meaningful access, foster community during times of division, and promote a culture and ethic of belonging. More broadly, social, community and institutional transformational strategies and initiatives are evolving. This moment provides us with an opportunity to approach challenges in ways that honour and leverage the multi-disciplinary work of equity, diversity and inclusion while proposing specific solutions to contextual issues. A new grammar isn’t merely about new words, it’s about a renewed relationship to the roots of the work and re-imagined ways of making sense and meaning.
As the work simultaneously coheres and unknots, join us for a conversation on one evolution of equity, reflection from the first one hundred twenty days of the renewal at the University of Alberta, and sharing of learnings and provocative questions that may help you where you are as we all strive to better understand and serve the students in our communities.
