Today’s students are navigating a crowded and competitive hiring landscape. Between career fairs, employer events, online postings, and dozens of applications, they are constantly deciding which organizations are worth their attention and effort.

For employers hiring post-secondary talent, understanding how students make these decisions is critical.

In this panel discussion, students will share how they discover employers, what information they look for when evaluating opportunities, and what influences whether they apply, attend events, or pursue an interview. They’ll also discuss what helps employers stand out — and what can quickly turn them away.

This session offers campus recruiters and early talent professionals a chance to hear directly from students about how employer branding, events, job postings, and recruiting interactions shape their decisions throughout the hiring process.

Questions panelists will address

  • How do you typically learn about employers and job opportunities?
  • When you’re choosing which employers to apply to, what factors matter most?
  • What have employers done during events, applications, or interviews that made them stand out in a positive way?
  • What are some common frustrations or turn-offs you experience during the hiring process?
  • If you could give one piece of advice to employers trying to attract and connect with students today, what would it be?

For campus recruiters and early talent teams, this session will provide direct insight into how students evaluate employers — and what can help organizations stand out in an increasingly competitive market for student talent.

Campus recruitment isn’t just evolving — it’s being recalibrated.

Between AI-enabled screening, shifting hiring volumes, budget scrutiny, hybrid engagement models, and students questioning the value of entry-level roles, early talent programs are under pressure to prove impact while delivering better candidate experiences.

In this candid, in-person panel discussion, campus recruiters and early talent leaders will share what’s changing inside their organizations — and how they’re adapting their strategies in real time.

From defending campus investment to redesigning engagement models, panelists will explore what’s working, what’s being cut, and what they’re watching closely as they plan for the next recruiting cycle.

Questions panelists will address:

  • What strategic shifts are reshaping your campus recruitment model right now?
  • How are AI and automation affecting early talent roles — and how are you responding?
  • Where are you doubling down on (schools, programs, formats) — and where are you pulling back?
  • How are you balancing efficiency, scale, and authentic student engagement?
  • What do you need from campus partners to deliver stronger hiring outcomes?

For campus recruiters, this is a chance to benchmark your strategy against peers and gain practical insight into how others are navigating complexity and constraint.

For employer relations and career professionals, it’s an unfiltered look at employer decision-making — and what partnership, access, and program design need to look like going forward.
